Theme: You Think, I thought, He confirm

You know you've not been to the army if you haven't had your superior shout at you, "You think, I thought, who confirm?!" As a result, you learn never to give the feeble excuse, "But I thought...".

Ignorance is never an excuse. How about when it comes to the Gospel? Is ignorance an excuse if we get the Gospel wrong? With so many different versions of the Gospel out there, who can confirm that what you believe is the true Gospel?

Come join us at Impact Conference 2010 as we investigate what Jesus says the Good News of the Gospel really is. Only He has the authority to confirm what you thought, or I think.

What will the conference look like?

Gospel-charged Bible talks, loads of chill-out time with your mates and new friends, sharing experiences studying in Australia over a BBQ, seminars on 'Love on the other side of the world', 'Reading the Bible for all it's worth', and 'How to think about choosing a Church' and lots more!

Andrew Cheah

Andrew Cheah

Andrew Cheah was born in Malaysia but moved to Australia in his late teens where he trained to become a doctor. Whilst training, he met and married his wife Judi. After working for a few years, they went on to study at Moore Theological College in Sydney, after which they returned to serve the church in Malaysia full timme. Andrew pastors the two SMACC congregations (www.smacc.info) at St. Mary's Cathedral in Kuala Lumpur, and the Ascended Christ Anglican (ACA) Church in Ampang (www.ascendedchrist.org). Andrew and Judi have two daughters, Hannah (8) and Beth (4). Andrew is passionate about keeping the Gospel of Jesus Christ central in life and ministry.

Seminar Topics
Reading the Bible for all it's worth What is the Bible - really? A religious text? A set of rules to be followed? A guide to life? A self-help book? Does the Bible have one message or many messages? Does the Bible have a coherent storyline? If so, what does the storyline look like? Come and learn how to read the Bible the way it was meant to be read - as the one story of God's great rescue plan.
How to Think About Choosing a Church Going overseas to study is never easy; thankfully there will be a Christian community that we can be a part of while we're here. But with the wide variety of denominations and Christian student groups in Australia, we might find it hard to decide which group to belong to. Join us as we think about how we can make a wise decision about church and how we can grow the Gospel while we're in Australia
Love on the other side of the world As you prepare to leave for Australia, are you feeling sad at the prospect of leaving your loved ones behind? Or excited about meeting new people and building new relationships? Whether you are currently single or in a relationship, it will not be an easy task packing up your bags to leave. Come along to this workshop where we'll explore what God says on issues like loneliness, how to date, maintaining long-distance relationships and more.
