Got questions? See if they're answered here! We hope that you may learn a bit more about what's going on in our heads in organising this conference for you.

If you still have more burning questions, don't hesitate to send us an email at webmaster@impactconference.info

Is IMPACT a church-organised thing? Who are you guys?

No, we're not a church-based organisation. We are a bunch of Singaporean students studying in Australia who have a desire for Jesus to be glorified both in Australia and back home. Although we come from different denominational backgrounds in Singapore, we are united in our passion for the gospel and would love nothing more than to meet other Christian students studying in Australia. You can read our profiles at http://www.impactconference.info/about.php

I am currently studying in Australia. Is Impact only for new students? Who should come for Impact?

Impact is for new students AND existing students. We want to help new students get plugged into gospel-centred groups in Australia and we want to partner with existing students to impact Singapore with the gospel. In addition, we also welcome any student who is not studying in Australia but would just like to learn more about the gospel and the way it shapes all of life.

What if I am not a Christian but am coming to study at Australia? Is impact for me? Will you try to hardsell me Christianity?

This conference is for anyone interested in hearing the gospel, the good news about how God has installed Jesus as new management! Rest assured that you won't be pressured to do anything you don't want to do. However, we do hope that you will keep an open mind about the gospel. So come, and make some new friends while you're at it

Is this a very serious studies-based conference?

There will be 3 talks over 3 days and a couple of seminars which will be run. But there will also be loads of just having fun together and time to chillax. We are serious when we need to be (afterall, the gospel is serious stuff!) but we also know how to have a good time.

I cannot come to the camp for all three days, but I would still like to attend some of theÊtalks. Can I do that? Must I pay?

We've structured the conference so that people get to know one another over the whole three days. And also, the 3 talks build on one another. So, if you come only for a day, you'll be missing out on a lot of stuff! We'd prefer it if you come for the whole conference but if there are events beyond your control (like catastrophe-level events!), then we'd love to have you even for one day!

For the day-rate for the conference, please email webmaster@impactconference.info

I'm not sure what your doctrine/theology is like? What if you guys are dodgy?

This is a great question to ask. It's always important to find out about the beliefs of the organisers before attending any Christian conference. We think that the gospel should be the centre of gravity that pulls Christians together. As such, Impact will always focus on what the gospel is and how it shapes all of life. If you would like an idea of our doctrinal basis, please have a look at the doctrinal basis of one of our partners, the Australian Fellowship of Evangelical Students, which can be found at http://www.afes.org.au/about/doctrinal-basis.

What is the purpose of having this conference? How is it different from other Christian conferences?

We hope this conference, like any other Christian conference, will encourage you and help you in your Christian walk. Unlike other Christian conferences, this conference is specifically tailored for students heading to or already studying in Australia. We hope to share with you the many opportunities there are to grow as a Christian as you study in Australia and also to plug you back to a network of like-minded people in Singapore during your summer holidays and eventually when you graduate.

Will I be made to sleep in the same room with people I don't know? Can I room with my own friends?

We will do our best to accommodate your rooming requests. But as one of the aims of the conference is for you to get to know other Christian students studying in Australia, you'll probably see a couple of new faces in the bungalow you'll be staying in!

Who are the new people I can expect to meet?

Expect to meet a) Students currently studying in Australia b) Students about to start studying in ALL parts of Australia, not just one state!

Will I be expected to do anything after the conference?

Absolutely not!

We only wish to introduce you to brothers and sisters in Christ across Australia, and give you a taste of the Gospel-centred church. What you do after that is entirely up to you!

Can I bring my christian friends though they are not studying in australia?

Absolutely! We'd love for everyone, Christian or non-Christian, studying in Australia or not, to be able to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ. However, there will be segments of the conference with a Australian component to it, so you can close your eyes and shut your ears then if you want. :)

What will my money be used for?

The camp fees of $70 (or $65 in AUD) is used to pay for your accommodation (3 days and 2 nights' worth of comfortable stay at the NSRCC bungalows), meals (3 meals a day plus tea), and other miscellaneous costs that are required for the programme. This fee is in fact heavily subsidised by people who have kindly donated to this gospel cause, and has been set at a price that weÊbelieve is manageable for students who do not yet have much spending power. So where else can you find such a good deal for comfortable accommodation, great food, meeting new people, and most importantly, getting great teaching on the bible? Come join us now!

Why the name 'IMPACT'?

We think that Jesus Christ and the gospel about him has massive implications for everyone, both in this life and the life to come. We wanted a name that reflects our vision: that Singapore would be IMPACT-ed through the faithful proclamation of this gospel by the many Singaporean students studying in Australia.

What if I'm not a strong Christian? / What if I'm not Christian? / What if my bible knowledge is not strong?

This conference welcomes anyone who is interested in the gospel which includes people who may not necessarily be Christians and still searching for more answers. Don't be pressured to think that you should know the bible well before coming; that is not the main point. The important thing is to come with a heart to find out more and willingness to have your convictions challenged by the bible. There will be plenty of opportunities to hear what the bible says: Bible talks, small group discussions, electives like "Reading the bible for all it's worth" etc.

I notice on the registration page of the website that payment for the conference can only be made by electronic bank transfer. Can i pay you in cash instead?

Due to security reasons, electronic bank transfer is the preferred method of payment. However, if you are unable to access yourÊbank account on the internet and have no other option but to pay by cash, please continue to register and send an email to rego@impactconference.info indicating that you need to make payment by cash. You can then make cash payment on the first day of the conference.
